A calm, restorative session using specific wavelengths of light to support your skin and the body’s own repair processes. At Beleza Clinic in Columbia and Timonium, Maryland, light therapy is available on its own or added to another service.
Red light therapy uses low-level red and near-infrared light. The light reaches skin cells and is absorbed by the mitochondria, the part of the cell that makes energy. This process is called photobiomodulation. Early research suggests it can support the skin’s repair processes, including collagen. Results vary from person to person.
We use the Beauty Red Light Therapy Machine. It offers red light and blue light, with settings for acne, skincare, relaxation, hair care and fat burning. Your provider chooses the setting that fits your goal at consultation and explains what to expect.
